Declaring the major

Declare in Axess (a minimum 3.0 GPA is required to join the major)

Complete the appropriate declaration form

Share the completed major form with Student Services

Email the completed form to Patricia Jacobus, student services officer for the bachelor's program. She will provide information about the next steps.

Think about who you'd like as your faculty advisor

Refer to the tenure line faculty list for available advisors.

Schedule an appointment with the director of undergradate studies

Schedule an appointment with Professor Michael Rosenfeld who will formally welcome you to the department and discuss program requirements.

Declaring the minor

Declare in Axess

You can register for the sociology minor directly on Axess, but you should follow up with an appointment with either Sociology Student Services or Michael Rosenfeld, Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Complete the appropriate declaration form

Submit completed minor form to Student Services

Share the completed form with Patricia Jacobus, the student services officer for the bachelor's program. She will provide additional information about the next steps.
