Kiersten is a social scientist who studies gender, organizations, and work. Her research examines how gender shapes attributions of power, authority, and recognition at work; how flexible workplace arrangements like asynchronous collaboration and remote work influence cooperation, cohesion, and belonging; and how gendered expectations determine who appears credible, consequential, or fitting in certain contexts. Using survey data, experiments, and large-scale bibliometric data, she investigates the cultural and organizational processes that shape inequality, collaboration, and individuals' experiences in organizations. Her goal is to generate insights that are both theoretically meaningful and relevant to contemporary workplaces.
