Jennifer Jiwon Lee

Dr. Jennifer Jiwon Lee is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the VMware Women's Leadership Innovation Lab and the Stanford Impact Lab. Her research investigates how cultural beliefs about gender shape individual behaviors as well as perceptions of status and legitimacy. Across past and current projects, she has examined how highly accomplished scientists are portrayed in public media, who speaks up and dominates participation in college classrooms, and how individuals come to claim and perform expertise. Prior to her postdoctoral research, Dr. Lee earned her PhD in sociology at Indiana University-Bloomington.
