Shelley Correll begins term as American Sociological Association president

Shelley J. Correll begins her term as president of the American Sociological Association. Correll was elected the 117th President of the American Sociological Association in May 2024, and served as President-Elect for one year.

Each year, ASA’s president chooses a theme on which to focus some of the programming for the ASA Annual Meeting. Correll chose the theme “Disrupting the Status Quo: Putting Sociology to Work for a More Equitable Society.” Read the full theme statement.
