Michael Rosenfeld named director of the Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexual Studies
Professor Michael Rosenfeld has been named director of Stanford's Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (FGSS), an interdisciplinary program that explores how gender and sexuality intersect with race, class, culture, politics, health, and other dimensions of social life.
A social demographer, Rosenfeld's research focuses on race, ethnicity, family structure, the effects of families on children, and the history of the family. His work also examines mate selection as both a social and personal process.

Rosenfeld will continue to serve as the Department of Sociology's director of undergraduate studies.
