C. Matthew Snipp returns to lead CCSRE

Professor C. Matthew Snipp has been named director of Stanford's Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CCSRE). He previously led the center from 2008 to 2016 and succeeds Professor Jennifer DeVere Brody in the role.

Snipp is the Burnet C. and Mildred Finley Wohlford Professor in the Department of Sociology and recently served as Stanford's Vice Provost for Faculty Development, Diversity and Engagement. He previously directed the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences' Secure Data Center. Snipps research focuses on race and ethnicity, social inequality, demographic change, and Native American populations.
